We’ve been getting a lot of queries about the upcoming members area. Here’s a quick update for everyone: Our tech team faced a few delays as the main designer working on the new website quit unexpectedly due to personal reasons; I’ll be personally taking up the remaining development of the website to wrap it up as soon as possible. Also note that a new members area is already up and running but we’re working on transferring out client information and records, that is unfortunately a tedious task.
We expect to have the new website and members area up and functional within 1-2 weeks from this point. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to clients in the meantime.

Farewell to Bill Gates as he leaves Microsoft today. He truly made Microsoft what it is and I certainly hope the legacy he has left behind can live upto his name in the future. I wish him best of luck with his retirement and future plans with the Gates Foundation.
Here’s a video from Microsoft as they look back and move ahead.

It is a very sad day for me and many other people. One of my closest and dearest friends, Ahmed Mehrooz, passed away last night in his sleep. I am still in a state of shock trying to grasp the situation but cannot, he was too young to go. We met almost every day and always had a lot to talk about. He was indeed one of my closest and best friends. He was a wonderful person, always cheerful, never angry, always up for an adventure or anything you could throw at him. A very caring person who always looked out for his friends.
You will be missed my dear friend. I will always remember you and pray for your family’s well being.

Here’s a sad (but not unexpected) bit of news. As of February 2008, AOL will discontinue development and support of the Netscape web browser. That’s a sad end to an aging browser. I still remember the days of the 56K modem and how Netscape was ‘the alternate’ choice to I.E.

Goodbye Netscape, R.I.P

We had an unexpected server failure on the Metroplex (209.59.195.12) server tonight around 12:00 AM Pacific Standard Time, for some reason the server’s processor just died and it went down because of that. Within 5 minutes our staff was on the case and had a new server prepared to replace the hardware with. While we were are it- we upgraded the server’s hardware configuration completely to better the performance.
We do apologise for this outage, servers dying all of a sudden is rather rare.

Here’s something cool, Reyox is on page # 1 of Google for the search term VPS Hosting Solutions. Not bad

Quite a few
customers have been asking me when Reyox plans on upgrading to Helm 4. Well I can’t give anyone a definite timeframe just yet. For one thing, the Helm 4 migration tool/upgrade tool is far from being out of Beta and we certainly can’t risk bringing down a 50 server cluster because of a faulty upgrade. There are also a couple of issues Helm 4 has which need to be ironed out before we even consider upgrading to it. However I believe an upgrade to Helm 4 is probable towards the end of this year.

Words can’t express how sad I feel for this awesome British car (being a British car fan) being treated this way:

This has been one busy month for Reyox Hosting. We’ve had a record number of VPS signups and VPS upgrades this month, which is why I’ve had no time for updates on the blog. A list of stuff that’s going on:
1. New Reyox Man comic episode coming next month
2. Newer hosting plans are around the corner
3. Reyox Hosting is also working on a new hosting platform, no details available on it yet but once it’s released you’ll be pleasantly surprised
